Tutorial 3 - Overview

Background Reading
Smith, H., Higgins, S., Wall, K., & Miller, J. (2005). Interactive whiteboards: boon or bandwagon? A critical review of
the literature. Journal of Computer Assisted Learning, 21(2), 91-101.

- Using notebook software to create a short series of pedagogic
ally interactive learning tasks around a specific content area and grade level.
• Select a KLA and particular content or outcome focus e.g. English> Writing> Adjectives and a grade level
• Brainstorm three activities for this content that would use multiple modalities: text/image/sound/video and also kinaesthetic activities involving concrete materials
• Using Notebook 10 create the pages/resources for these three different activities with a design focus on handover (students at the IWB not the teacher) with multiple modalities evident in the task design
• Include an interactive tool from the Toolkit in the gallery file
• Include links to online resources or interactive consolidation activities (see TaLe website)
• Attach teaching notes or worksheets in the attachments tab
